How fast content arrives

Turnaround times, as each platform states them:

  • JoinBrands: most brands get content 3–7 days after launching a campaign.
  • Insense: creator applications arrive 1–3 business days after you post a brief, and content can arrive in as few as 7–10 business days.
  • Trend: about 2–3 weeks on average to get all your content.
  • Billo, Influee, Collabstr and Cohley don't state a turnaround on the pages we checked.

What to compare before you choose a UGC platform

  • How creator pay works. Jem Social, JoinBrands, Influee, Collabstr and Insense charge for the platform, and you pay creators on top. Billo and Trend include creator pay in the price per video or package. Cohley quotes on request.
  • Fees on creator payments. They run from 5% to 20% across the platforms here. Check who pays: you, the creator or both.
  • Content rights. Running UGC as paid ads needs usage rights. Billo, JoinBrands, Insense, Trend and Cohley state broad or perpetual rights. On Jem Social, you agree rights with each creator as part of the deal. Get the rights in writing before you spend on ads.
  • Billing terms. Collabstr's paid plans need annual billing, and Insense's need quarterly or annual billing. Compare what you'd pay month to month.
  • Who picks the creator. On Jem Social you search creators and choose who to brief. On Insense and Influee you post a brief and creators apply.

Where Jem Social fits

Jem Social costs $69/month, billed monthly, after a 7-day free trial. That's the lowest monthly subscription of the 8 platforms here, under JoinBrands Start-up ($99), Influee ($229), Collabstr Pro ($249, billed annually) and Insense Brand ($400, billed annually). Brands pay a 10% fee on creator payments, waived on custom plans. You search 30M+ creators, including 8,324 US creators tagged UGC with 5,000+ followers. You filter by niche, city, followers and engagement, then see each creator's email, audience data and rate estimate. You message and pay creators in Jem, with funds held until you approve the content.

Jem isn't the right fit if you want a fixed price per video with creator pay included: Billo and Trend do that. If you want someone to run the program for you, use Cohley's managed service or an agency.
