Last updated: October 2026
The best UGC platforms for creators are the ones that pay reliably, let you in without a big following and charge you little or nothing. In October 2026, the ones worth checking are JoinBrands, Billo, Collabstr, Influee, Insense and Jem Social, and they differ a lot on who they accept and what they take from your payout.
This guide is for creators who want paid UGC work, including beginners with small or no audiences. Every platform fact below comes from that platform's own site, was read in October 2026 and links to its source. Where a fact is not published, it says so.
What makes a good UGC platform for creators
Judge a platform on four things before you spend time on an application.
- Who gets in: country limits, age limits, vetting and any follower or view minimums.
- What it costs you: sign-up fees, subscriptions and the cut taken from each payout.
- How you get paid: payout method, timing and whether the brand's money is held before you start.
- What you can negotiate: fixed offers or your own price.
Use the same four questions on any platform not listed here. If a site hides the answers, assume the worst until you can confirm them.
The platforms compared (October 2026)
Each platform below uses the same four lead-ins so you can compare them line by line.
JoinBrands
- Who it's for: creators who can make quality videos for brands. Per its creator page, you must be 18 or older and live in the USA, UK, Germany, Australia or Canada (as of October 2026).
- Cost to creators: not published on the creator page.
- Follower requirement: none stated. The page says a TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or Amazon account is a plus, not a requirement.
- How you get paid: once your content is approved, the payout goes to a virtual wallet, and you can transfer it to PayPal.
Billo
- Who it's for: creators in the United States, Canada or the United Kingdom who are 18 or older. Billo's creator page says no professional experience or social media presence is required (as of October 2026).
- Cost to creators: not published on the creator page.
- Follower requirement: none. A social media presence is not required.
- How you get paid: after your video is approved, earnings are credited to your Billo account, and payments go out twice a month through PayPal. Billo says that after 14 videos with strong stats you can unlock a Premium tier with higher paying offers.
Collabstr
- Who it's for: creators who want a profile brands can browse and book directly. Collabstr's FAQ says brands discover you and buy your services through the platform (as of October 2026).
- Cost to creators: no up-front cost. Collabstr takes a 15% transaction fee when you make a sale.
- Follower requirement: not published in the FAQ.
- How you get paid: Collabstr holds the buyer's payment until the order is complete. You can then choose from more than five payout methods, including PayPal, CashApp and Venmo.
Influee
- Who it's for: UGC creators of all experience levels. Influee's creator page says you do not need followers because UGC is about content skills and quality (as of October 2026).
- Cost to creators: not published on the creator page.
- Follower requirement: none, per the creator page.
- How you get paid: deals done through Influee are covered by its payment protection, and the page says you receive payment within 5 to 10 days.
Insense
- Who it's for: creators who can meet its minimums and want to set their own prices. Insense's creator page lists at least 1,000 Instagram followers or at least 500 median TikTok views, with 1% engagement or more (as of October 2026).
- Cost to creators: the Insense FAQ says it charges brands a 15% or 20% fee on content. Its creator terms say it may also take a percentage of your fee. The rate is not published there.
- Follower requirement: the minimums above.
- How you get paid: once you are hired, your payment is taken from the brand's balance and frozen until you submit the required deliverables. You can negotiate your pricing with brands.
Jem Social
- Who it's for: UGC creators, influencers and content creators who want to browse open brand campaigns. The public Opportunity Board lists gifted and paid campaigns with the platform, deliverables, compensation and deadline up front (as of October 2026).
- Cost to creators: creating a creator profile is free. The optional Brand Pitch Tool costs $20 a month.
- Follower requirement: each listing states its own follower range. The board says many brands look for micro and nano creators.
- How you get paid: Jem says deals booked on the platform run through escrow, and each listing shows its compensation.
How to choose between them
Match the platform to where you are right now.
- No audience yet: Billo and Influee both say followers are not required. JoinBrands lists no follower minimum. Start there, and add the Opportunity Board for gifted campaigns that build a portfolio.
- Want to set your price: Collabstr and Insense let you list or negotiate rates. Collabstr's 15% fee means you should price with it in mind. Use the UGC rate card generator to build your price list first.
- Located outside the US, UK or Canada: check the country lists. JoinBrands lists five countries and Billo lists three, so confirm yours before you spend time on a profile.
- Want direct brand relationships: pitch brands yourself. Our guide on how to pitch brands has email templates you can copy.
You do not have to pick one. Try two or three, then compare payout speed and what you earn per hour of work after your first few jobs. Worked example: if a $100 Collabstr order carries a 15% fee, you keep $85, so a $100 rate on one platform and an $85 net on another are not the same offer.
Set up a profile brands say yes to
A profile is your pitch when you are not in the room. Most platforms ask for the same things, so build them once and reuse them.
- Show three to five samples. Pick work in the formats brands buy most: a talking-to-camera review, an unboxing and a short demo. Vertical video shot on a phone is enough if the lighting and audio are clean.
- State what you deliver. List video length, number of edits, turnaround time and whether you can post on your own account.
- Set a starting price. Base it on your time and add usage rights as a separate line. The UGC rate card generator gives you a structure to fill in.
- Say who you make content for. A clear niche such as skincare, pet products or apps makes it easier for a brand to picture your work.
- Reply fast. Brands often shortlist several creators for one brief, so a quick, specific reply helps you stand out.
What to expect from your first jobs
Your first jobs are about proof, not income. A gifted campaign or a low-priced first order gives you finished work, a brand to reference and a feel for how briefs are written. Keep each job's brief, your delivered files and any feedback in one folder. After three or four jobs, raise your price and drop the platforms that were slow to pay or hard to work with.
If a platform's offers feel too low, pitch brands directly in parallel. A direct deal avoids platform fees and lets you set terms, though you carry the work of finding contacts and chasing payment. The guide to brand deals on Instagram covers that route.
Protect yourself on any platform
- Check where the money sits. Prefer platforms that hold the brand's payment before you start. JoinBrands, Collabstr, Insense and Jem each describe some form of held payment or escrow.
- Read the usage rights. Know how long the brand can run your content and whether paid ads are included. Price ad usage separately.
- Disclose paid and gifted posts. If you post on your own account, the FTC expects a clear disclosure when you have a material connection to a brand. See the FTC Disclosures 101 guide.
- Keep your own portfolio. Platform profiles can change. Save your best work in a media kit you control.
