Brand Ambassador Programs: How to Find and Join Them

Key takeaways

  • A brand ambassador program is a standing arrangement where a brand picks creators to represent it for free product, commission, discounts or cash.
  • Find programs on the brand's own site: check the footer for Ambassadors, Affiliates, Creators or Partners links.
  • Brands in the programs we read focus on fit, activity and community, and some accept applicants with no follower minimum.
  • Read the terms before you accept: pay, deliverables, content rights, exclusivity and how to leave.
  • Disclose every free product, code or payment clearly, following FTC guidance.

Last updated: November 2026

Brand ambassador programs are open applications where a brand picks creators to represent it, usually in exchange for free product, commission, discounts or cash. To join one, find the brand's own program page, check what it asks for, and apply with a short, specific profile of your audience and content.

This guide is for small creators, UGC creators and influencers who want repeatable brand relationships instead of one-off posts. You do not need a big following to start. You do need to read each program's terms before you apply.

What a brand ambassador program is

A brand ambassador program is a standing arrangement. Instead of a single sponsored post, you represent a brand over time, often under a contracted term. Brands run these programs to get steady content, honest recommendations and a community of people who already like the product.

Programs come in a few shapes. Some are gifted-first: you get product and perks. Some are affiliate-style: you earn commission on sales through your own link or code. Some mix both, and a few pay cash for specific tasks. The label "ambassador" does not tell you which one it is, so always check the terms.

Five programs you can read for yourself

These are real programs. Everything below comes from each brand's own page, opened in November 2026. Programs change, so check the page before you apply. Where a fact is not on the page, it says "not published".

Celsius

  • What it is: A brand ambassador program with an online application. Celsius says ambassadors represent the brand over a contracted term.
  • What they look for: Celsius says its team chooses ambassadors based on enthusiasm and community engagement, both locally and virtually. It names social media skills, content creation and writing as important.
  • Pay and perks: Not published on the page. Follower minimum: not published.

Pixi Beauty

  • What it is: An ambassador program listed under "Affiliates & Creators". You apply through an application form linked from the page.
  • What they look for: Not published. The page says you must submit an application to be considered.
  • Pay and perks: Not published. Follower minimum: not published.

On

  • What it is: The On Ambassador Program. The page says applications close November 12, 2026, for the 2027 program. The page I opened listed application links for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and for Oceania, so check which one covers your region.
  • What they look for: People who inspire their local communities through movement, running, training or sport.
  • Perks: Special access to On community experiences and events, the latest products, and news first. Ambassadors are expected to do things like host events and demo products. Cash pay: not published. Follower minimum: not published.

lululemon

  • What it is: An affiliate and creator program. The page describes three steps: sign up for the program that suits your content, learn the brand guidelines, and share your unique links. The Apply Now button goes to an Awin publisher sign-up.
  • Pay and perks: You earn commission when someone clicks your link and buys. The page also mentions early news on product drops and special event access. The commission rate: not published on the page.
  • Follower requirement: Not published.

Daniel Wellington

  • What it is: The Daniel Wellington "Icons" ambassador community, joined through an online application.
  • Benefits listed: Commission, gift cards, cash, personalized discount codes, free products and exclusive discounts.
  • Follower requirement: The page says there is no minimum to apply, but you need a public social media account and must be an active user. It lists extra missions and perks for ambassadors with more than 3,000 followers who are frequently active with engaged communities. It says the brand has a strong focus on Instagram.
  • Timing: The page says applications can take up to 3 business days to process.

How to find more programs

Most brands do not advertise a program on their homepage. Use these steps to find the ones that exist.

  1. List 10 brands you already buy and use. Real use makes your application believable.
  2. Check each brand's website footer for links named "Ambassadors", "Affiliates", "Creators", "Partners" or "Collab".
  3. Search Google for the brand name plus "ambassador program" and "creator program". Open the brand's own page, not a list that copies it.
  4. Browse live campaigns where brands post what they want, including gifted and affiliate offers. The Jem Social Opportunity Board lists open campaigns with the platform, deliverables and compensation shown up front. As of November 2026 it includes a Brand Ambassador listing, so look there for current ones.
  5. Save every program you find in a sheet, with the application link, deadline and what you would offer.

What brands look for in an ambassador

The five pages above point the same way. Brands talk about fit, activity and community more than raw follower counts. Celsius names enthusiasm and community engagement. On names local community leadership. Daniel Wellington asks for a public, active account and an engaged audience.

Build for that before you apply:

  • Use the product first. Post about it naturally for a few weeks. Applications that reference real use stand out.
  • Keep your profile public and active. Post on a steady schedule and answer comments.
  • Know your audience. Be ready to say who follows you, where they live and what they care about.
  • Show your best work in one place. A media kit with your stats, niches and past work saves you rewriting the same details for every form.

How to write an application that gets read

Most programs use a short form, so every answer counts. Keep each answer to a few direct sentences.

  1. Say why this brand. Name the product you use and what you like about it.
  2. Say who you reach. Give your platforms, niche and audience in plain words.
  3. Say what you will make. Offer two or three content ideas that fit the brand's tone.
  4. Link your best three posts. Pick the ones closest to the brand's category.
  5. Stay within what you can do. Do not promise a posting schedule you cannot keep. Many programs run over a term.

If a brand has no program, you can still pitch one. Use a short email with your angle, your audience and a clear ask. The brand pitch email generator gives you a structure to start from, and our guide on how to pitch brands walks through the full process.

Read the terms before you say yes

An ambassador deal is a working relationship, so read it like one. Before you accept, find the answers to these questions.

  • What do you receive? Product, commission, cash or a mix. Get the commission rate and payment date in writing.
  • What do you owe? Number of posts, platforms, content formats and the length of the term.
  • Who owns the content? Check whether the brand can reuse your videos and photos, where, and for how long.
  • Is it exclusive? Some programs limit working with competing brands.
  • How do you leave? Know how to end the arrangement and what happens to your codes and links.

For payment on bigger deals, a written agreement helps both sides. Our guide to UGC brand deals covers rights and terms in more detail.

Disclose every ambassador post

If a brand gives you free product, commission, a discount code or money, you need to tell your audience clearly. The FTC explains how in its Disclosures 101 for Social Media Influencers. Put the disclosure where people will see it, not buried in a pile of hashtags. Ask the brand for its disclosure rules and follow them.

Apply to your first three programs this week

Do not wait for a perfect following. Pick three brands you already use, find their program pages, and send three applications by Friday. Track the dates, and follow up politely if a program gives a response time and you have not heard back.

FAQ

What is a brand ambassador program?
A brand ambassador program is an arrangement where a brand picks creators or fans to represent it over time. Rewards vary and can include free product, commission, discount codes or cash. Always check the terms to see which applies.
Do I need a lot of followers to become a brand ambassador?
Not always. Daniel Wellington's ambassador page says anyone can apply with a public, active social account, with extra perks for ambassadors above 3,000 followers. Other brands, such as Celsius and Pixi, do not publish a follower minimum on their pages.
How do I find brand ambassador programs to join?
Check the footer of brands you already use for Ambassadors, Affiliates, Creators or Partners links. You can also search the brand name plus ambassador program, and browse open campaigns on the Jem Social Opportunity Board.
Are brand ambassadors paid?
It depends on the program. Daniel Wellington lists commission, gift cards and cash among its benefits, and lululemon's program pays commission on purchases through your link. Many brands do not publish pay on their pages, so ask before you accept.
